King of Pop, Michael Jackson has converted to Islam and changed his name to Mikaeel.
It is however not clear, whether he embraced Islam at the call of Osama Bin Laden, who and his deputy in the recent past had advised Amercians a number of times to embrace Islam to avoid further attacks. Jackson, 50, was dressed in the Islamic garb as he pledged his allegiance to the Koran at a friend's house in Los Angeles. He sat on the floor and an Imam was summoned, and Michael went through the shahada, which is the Muslim declaration of belief, a close associate told. Mikaeel is the name of one of Allah's angels. The star whose hits include "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Beat it" and "Bad" will however continue singing and wild, erotic and vulgar dancing. Probably he will undertake a heavy dose of Muslim pilgrimage to balance off the sin accumulated due to the heavy practice of Haram. It also remains to be seen, how fundamentalist muslims and Wahabis of Saudi Arabia take this conversion as it seems Mikaeel is no mood to give up music and he will completely and defiantly ignore and dismiss the fact that music is a Haram. King of Pop, puts his kingly weight to accommodate his wishes over diktats of Islam.

cosmic, you raised a good point, yes, Osama Bin Laden, one of the greatest son of Saudi Arabia and the most popular Saudi ever, did urge Americans to embrace Islam.
