Femen members tore apart Sonia Maino (popularly knows as Sonia Gandhi) and her UPA government's shameful policy of denying Ukrainian women visa on the excuse of controlling prostitution in New Delhi.
Be not surprised if Sonia Maino's government also considers putting criminal charge on rape victims in the line of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Somalia at some point in future. Prostitution though illegal in India is flourishing in New Delhi and other cities and everyday hundreds of advertisements are published in Times of India and other newspapers under the guise of massage. The government is turning a blind eye to this open sex business but instead chosen blaming women for prostitution is something not only shocking but highly distasteful. All prostitution rackets are definitely run by people with access to powerful politicians and indirectly the politicians are gaining from the thriving flesh trade in NCR and other metro cities. Instead of insulting the Ukrainians and Russians, Sonia Maino can declare most favored nation status to Ital only in prostitution business. Four activists belonging to a women's group in Ukraine went topless at the Indian embassy in Kiev to protest New Delhi's plan to block Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh women from entering India as part of a national anti-prostitution campaign. The topless activists climbed the Indian embassy's balcony and unfurled banners that said, "Ukrainians are not prostitutes!", "Delhi, close your brothels" and "We demand apologies". The group's blog said that by issuing such an order, India has gravely insulted the women of Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan. "Indian prostitution is directly conducted with impunity of the country's criminal business. Blaming it on women is a shame for the heirs of such a rich and old culture," the blog said. We as Indians are demanding to Congress party, Sheila Dikshit and Sonia Maino to publish the names of brother owners, brothel regular customers along with the names of Indians having swiss bank accounts and then we can conduct some correlation analysis between the two lists and I am sure some interesting pattern will emerge.

I am absolutely against brothels and the oldest profession on earth. But there has to be a more effective way than to simply demand that brothels be closed, and that too by going topless. Doing that might have actually created a few more customers for the brothels at least on that day. LOL

@ Khair, I think you have not read the passage attentively, the ladies went for a top less protest in Indian embassy for the outrageous visa policy of India which if true assumes all Ukrainian/Russian young females are prostitutes. As a mater of fact, more women are lured into prostitution business from Bangladesh and Nepal into India and so going by the same rationale India then may refuse visa to all Bangladeshi and Nepali (they don't require one actually) women below 50 years. This is the most corrupt and ridiculous central government India has ever had.

@RANGER, I see the point, though still have difficulty accepting topless protest. This is something the Ukrainian government should take up with the Indian government. They should seek clarification on the policy under which visas are denied to Ukrainian women.
On a ligher note, imagine the Embassy people in Ukraine. They must be enjoying themselves FREE of charge.
