National Geographic Channel ties up with The Car & Bike Show on NDTV for their adventure challenge series, Apollo Flight of the Hawkz November 17, 2009 : Dangerous curves, sand dunes, mud pits, rough terrains, SUVs and a lot more… NDTV is gearing up to bring you all of the excitement from National Geographic Channel's brand new adventure series, 'Apollo Flight of the Hawkz'. This is a unique content sharing partnership between the two channels with similar target audience.

Presented by fearless and fiery, Nethra Raghuraman, Apollo Flight of the Hawkz is a unique concept that combines the passion for off-roading with unmatched thrills and dare. The extreme adventure challenge is designed to test the physical ability and the mental agility of the adventure enthusiasts.

As the official English news channel partner, the series will be promoted on NDTV through a unique integration with The Car & Bike Show, hosted by Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, across all phases of Apollo Flight of the Hawkz. Siddharth will keep viewers updated through the seven-part series which will cover various terrains across India with twelve teams of two members each, selected from across the country. Siddharth will also be part of the orientation, sharing his insights on SUV's, off roading, etc with the final participants. As partner, The Car & Bike Show will not only create buzz around the series but will also push weekly call for entries on the show. One lucky The Car & Bike Show viewer will be fast-tracked to the last 16 to try his/her hand at cracking into the final 12.

The show will see a combination of adventure enthusiasts - existing SUV owners with their vehicles will join hands with those who dream to possess one in the future. As part of the Nat Geo series, the participants will cover around 120 kms per day on tricky terrains, crack intelligent mind games, take up thrilling and never-seen-before adventure tasks, like stand up paddling, tight rope walking, monkey crawling and also maneuver their SUVs through incomparable obstacles and of course the climax of it in every episode would be the final dares, which will see the participants zipline between dangerous valleys and bungee jump off a crane! At the end of this seven-day long Lavasa to Goa driving adventure, the winning team will get to go on a fully-paid adventure trip for two to Masai Mara, South Africa.

Interested participants can register online for Apollo Flight of the Hawkz on-ground selections by simply logging on to www.msnindia.com/natgeohawkz. Indian nationals above the age of 18 who are physically fit, have a valid driving license can apply to be a part of the challenge. People can also register on the spot at the selection venue. On-ground selections will be organised in Delhi on January 10, Kolkata on January 17, Bengaluru on January 24 and Mumbai on January 31, 2010. All participants will undergo a series of physical and mental challenges, and a medical test to make it to the final twelve.
