Few simple steps and little care can avoid credit card misuse. Card misuse not only makes you vulnerable to huge financial loss, but also brings frustration and harassment. Therefore following are some tips to prevent card misuse :-
1. Never leave your credit card unattended. 2. Carry only the cards you use. Keep unused cards under lock and key. 3. Keep your credit card in same place every time, so that you notice immediately if it is missing 4. Never hand over your credit card to anyone other than a merchant when making a purchase. 5. Never sign an incomplete charge slip, specially in Hotels, Restaurants, etc 6. Always ensure that the merchant processes the transaction in your presence and ensure that they do not note down your credit card expiry date and CVV number. 7. Remember to take back your credit card after every transaction 8. Always keep a copy of credit card details along with Issuing Bank Helpline number with you. 9. Always retain charge slips and tally them with the credit card statement. 10. Never disclose the CVV Number to any one over the phone. |
